Eligible countries: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine


The third edition of the only competition dedicated to Eastern European fine chocolate. This new competition recognises the growing in interest in fine cacao and chocolate in Eastern, Central and North Eastern Europe and aims to support existing and new chocolate companies in areas that have not previously had a strong artisanal chocolate tradition.


Open to all companies whose head office is based in one of the countries listed above. This competition is for flavoured bars, filled chocolates and spreads. Plain/origin and plain milk or white bars were judged for 2017 at the European plain/origin bar competition in Amsterdam, 9 – 12 June 2017.

NOTE: If you submitted Plain/origin bar entries to the European Plain/origin bar Semi-final, you will not be charged an admission fee for the Eastern European competition.

This is a Chocolatier competition for all categories EXCEPT for Plain/origin and Flavoured dark, milk and white bars made by Bean-to-Bar chocolate makers. These products are judged at the regional Bean-to-Bar competition, held in: Netherlands.

The admission fee for this competition is EUR €55 and the fee for each entry is EUR €40. Prices will be converted into local currency by your credit card company, if required.

To ensure your samples are in the best condition for the competition, please do not send for delivery before the samples opening date. For fresh products such as ganaches, you are advised to send in the last week before the closing date.

Sample quantities

To ensure that we have enough products go through our Selection, Main and Grand Jury judging rounds, please send the following quantities of EACH product you enter:

  • Bars: 400g total weight
  • Filled/bonbons etc: 30 pieces
  • Spreads: 300g
