October 3, 2018 8:14 am by International Chocolate Awards in News, Results, Winners

The International Chocolate Awards is pleased to announce the Winners of the British Chocolatier Competition, which was judged in York, at York Cocoa Works, 28 – 29 September 2018.

The British Chocolatier Competition is the UK’s only chocolate competition dedicated purely to chocolatier products made in the UK by British chocolate companies.

The Competition celebrates the craft of chocolatiers and chocolate companies who create filled chocolates, truffles, ganaches, caramels, fondants, enrobed fruits and nuts, and spreads made from chocolate couverture or from their own bean-to-bar chocolate and includes flavoured chocolate bars made from chocolate couverture.

Judges

The judging panel included regular UK judges, along with pastry chefs, restaurateurs, journalists and other specialists from the York area and members of our regular judging panel and international Grand Jury.

Prizes

The entry categories included flavoured chocolate bars, filled chocolates and spreads and are based on yearly feedback from our entrants and in consultation with the fine chocolate industry. All judging is anonymised, including at the Grand Jury final session, where Golds, Silver and Bronze prizes are awarded by private voting according to the Grand Jury rules.

Awards are awarded only to entries that meet the required standard for each prize. Winners will be presented at the British Chocolatier Prize Ceremony at York Cocoa Works on the evening of 17 October 2018, as part of UK Chocolate Week. Invitations will be sent separately.
