British Chocolatier Competition, 2018

Location: York, United Kingdom
Judging dates: September 28, 2018 – September 29, 2018
Eligible countries: United Kingdom

The British Chocolatier Competition is the UK’s only chocolate competition dedicated purely to chocolatier products made in the UK by British chocolate companies.

The British Chocolatier Competition celebrates the craft of chocolatiers and chocolate companies who create filled chocolates, truffles, ganaches, caramels, fondants, enrobed fruits and nuts and spreads made from chocolate couverture or from their own bean-to-bar chocolate. The competition also includes flavoured chocolate bars made from chocolate couverture.

Judging will once again be held in the historic UK chocolate city of York and will take place at York Cocoa Works 28 – 29 September 2018. Winners will be presented at York Cocoa Works on the evening of 17 October 2018, as part of UK Chocolate Week. Invitations will be sent separately.

This competition is open to all companies with their main base or head office in the United Kingdom for all filled chocolates and spreads made from couverture or bean-to-bar chocolate, and for flavoured bars made from couverture. All bean-to-bar dark, milk, white plain/origin and flavoured bars were judged for 2018 at the European Bean-to-Bar Competition in Amsterdam in May – July 2018. Irish based companies may also enter into the British Chocolatier Competition.

Hand deliveries of samples are accepted, but must be correctly labelled and securely boxed to avoid damage.

NOTE: If you submitted plain/origin or flavoured bean-to-bar entries to the European Bean-to-bar Competition, you will not be charged an admission fee for the British competition.

This is a Chocolatier competition for all categories EXCEPT for Plain/origin and Flavoured dark, milk and white bars made by Bean-to-Bar chocolate makers. These products are judged at the regional Bean-to-Bar competition, held in: Netherlands.

The admission fee for this competition is GBP £49.5 and the fee for each entry is GBP £35. Prices will be converted into local currency by your credit card company, if required.
