World Final Phase #3 – Americas & Canadian Chocolatier, 2020

ANNOUNCEMENT: We’ve renamed our competitions as 2020-21 because of COVID delays and the longer time needed for judges to work at home. This will give our winners the chance to use their prize logos as a current prize in 2021. The next season will be 2021-22 and will be announced later in the year.


Phase #3: Americas and Canadian Chocolatier

The 2020-21 World Final comes to a conclusion with World Final Phase #3, where Americas winners and Canadian Chocolatier winners will go up against the European and Asia-Pacific prize products in our final judging sessions of the season to decide the best in competition for 2020-21.

Due to the special circumstances of 2020 and the delayed calendar this year because of COVID-19, the 2020-21 World Final is being held in three phases:

World Final Phase #1: European & Asia-Pacific Chocolatiers:
Florence, Italy. (Closed)

Winners of: Italian/Mediterranean, Eastern European, French, Benelux, DACH, Scandinavian and British competitions, and for Winning chocolatier products from Asia-Pacific (all bonbons, filled chocolates, spreads and flavoured bars made from purchased couverture).

World Final Phase #2: European & Asia-Pacific Bean-to-bar:
Hannover, Germany. (Judging)

Winners of: European, Middle Eastern and African Bean-to-Bar Competition and Asia-Pacific plain-origin and flavoured bars made from bean-to-bar by the entrant

World Final Phase #3: Americas & Canadian Chocolatier:
Hannover, Germany. Closing date: March 18th 2021.

Open for Winners of: Americas Bean-to-Bar and Chocolatier and Canadian Chocolatier competitions.

Remote judging

All judging will continue to be made by judges at home using our now well established remote judging protocols. Because of this, we are able to assure entrants that all World Final products will be judged to the same high standard by a wide-range of judges from our international panel.

Closing dates, Judging period and Announcement

We understand that this is a short deadline to send your products. Please try to send as soon as possible, but we will be flexible with shipping times if we possibly can. Please get in touch with us if you need help and please follow the customs advice you will receive once you enter.

Because of the evolving COVID situation, weather in the USA and judges working at home, our judging times our longer than normal. The World Final announcement ceremony is planned for early April. We will confirm the exact details once judging begins.

We want to assure all our entrants that products are judged in the best possible condition. Fresh products such as bonbons, ganaches, caramels etc. will be prioritised and judged as soon as possible after the closing deadline for each phase.

Elegibilidad

Phase #3 of the World Final is for Winners of the 2020 Americas Bean-to-Bar and Chocolatier and Canadian Chocolatier competitions.

Entry is by qualification through a Gold, Silver or Bronze prize win at one of the competitions listed above only.

Only 2020 winning products may be entered and may not be substituted for alternate products. Different batches are acceptable, as are batch variations and recipe changes that do not significantly alter the product in such a way that it would constitute a different retail product.

Entrants’ 2020 winning products are automatically listed on the system when you register for the World Final.

El precio de admisión para esta competición es EUR €50 y la cuota para cada inscripción es EUR €50. Los precios serán convertidos a moneda local por su compañía de tarjeta de crédito, si es necesario.

Para asegurarnos de que tenemos suficientes productos para nuestras rondas de Selección, Evaluación General y Gran Jurado, por favor envíe las siguientes cantidades de cada producto que inscriba:
