PHASE #2 EXTENSION – NEW CLOSING DATE 27 APRIL 2022

Due to the Easter rush, we’ve added a special extension to enter the British competition until 27 April, samples due by 29 April. If you already entered and sent your products, don’t worry, they will be judged while still fresh.

Celebrating the best in locally produced British chocolates, the British competition is the UK’s only chocolate awards dedicated purely to chocolatier products made in the UK by British chocolate companies. The competition is also open to chocolatiers and chocolate companies in the Republic of Ireland.

Cacao sourcing and traceability

For 2021-22 we have relaunched our filled chocolate competitions as “Craft Chocolatier Competitions”, to celebrate and champion the chocolate makers and companies using cacao with an identifiable and traceable source.

We will now only accept dark and milk chocolate in any category with a declared and traceable source for the cacao. Couverture and blends are still acceptable, provided that the source of each cacao used is also declared. The sourcing information can either be public or declared in confidence with the Awards. (Note: this rule does not currently apply to white chocolate or cocoa butter).

This change brings our chocolatier entries inline with our bean-to-bar competitions, and we are proud to celebrate and support the work of the growers, chocolate makers and all the supporting industries working to produce the world’s best chocolate products.

Remote judging for all products

Judging for this competition will be by remote judging. Entries will then be repacked as blinded samples and sent to our panel of judges and members of our international Grand Jury to judge at home using our online judging system. Reference sets of each submission will be held at the receiving venue in case of any issue with the samples sent to judges and products will be blinded as usual.

Bean-to-bar chocolate makers of plain/origin and flavored bars should enter the European Bean-to-Bar Competition, which will take place from November 2021 – March 2022 and will also be coordinated in Hannover, Germany.

Winners of this competition will pass through to the World Final, which will be held later in the year, with the timing depending on the ongoing COVID situation.


Éligibilité

This competition is open to all companies with their main base or head office in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland for all filled chocolates, covered nuts and fruits and spreads made from bean-to-bar and couverture chocolate and for flavoured bars made from couverture, where the entrant is not the chocolate maker.

NOTE: If you also submitted plain/origin or flavoured bean-to-bar bars to the European, Middle Eastern and African Bean-to-Bar Competition, you will not be charged an admission fee for the British Chocolatier Competition.

Il s’agit d’un concours national / régional pour toutes les catégories à L’EXCEPTION des barres de chocolat blanc, au lait, et noir nature. Ces catégories sont évaluées lors de la demi-finale, qui se tient à Germany.

Le prix d’admission à cette compétition s’élève à GBP £50 et les frais de participation s’élèvent à GBP £45. Les prix seront convertis en monnaie locale par la carte de crédit de votre entreprise, si nécessaire.

Pour vous assurer qu’un nombre suffisant de produits passent par nos tours Sélection, Principal et Grand Jury, envoyez les quantités suivantes pour CHAQUE produit que vous saisissez:
