Lieu: Greater New York area, United States
Dates d’évaluation: mai 14, 2016 – mai 19, 2016

COMPETITION ARCHIVED.

In 2016 the Americas competition enters its fifth year, again combining with Asia-Pacific to make it the largest round in the 2016 Awards calendar. As one of our founding competitions, Americas and Asia-Pacific brings together bean-to-bar chocolate bars and chocolatier products from diverse cultures to celebrate innovation and excellence in fine chocolate, including the USA – home of the micro-batch craft chocolate movement – Japan, and many of the Latin and Caribbean countries that grow fine cacao.

Crest-Logo-colorThis year’s judging is hosted by the Montclair State University in New Jersey, in association with the Nutrition and Food Science Program of The College of Education and Human Services at Montclair, which was home to the prestigious International Conference on Culinary Arts and Sciences (ICCAS) in 2015.

021915_3311_Nutrition LabFaculty and students in the program conduct investigations into the sensory analysis of food, food history, science and effects on cultural groups, and studies that assess the effects of food properties on emotions. Special activities on aspects of sensory analysis have been planned for judges.

The University’s work compliments the advanced sensorial evaluation approach of the International Chocolate Awards, which aims to give the fairest and most comprehensive assessment of the retail products entered through our system of ‘managed subjectivity’.

The Americas and Asia-Pacific competition includes standard and micro-batch categories for plain/origin chocolate bars and all other chocolatier categories – flavoured bars, filled chocolates/bonbons and spreads. Includes all Americas, Asia-Pacific and Oceania countries and regions, except Canadian chocolatier products, which are judged at the Canadian competition in September.

Éligibilité

Open to all entrants with their main office or headquarters in North and South American, Asia-Pacific and Oceania, for all categories.

Canadian companies may only enter plain/origin bar entries in the Americas and Asia Pacific competition. The Canadian National Competition for chocolatier products – flavoured bars, filled chocolates and spreads, will take place in Toronto in September 2016. (Only one registration fee will be charged).

Le prix d’admission à cette compétition s’élève à USD $65 et les frais de participation s’élèvent à USD $40. Les prix seront convertis en monnaie locale par la carte de crédit de votre entreprise, si nécessaire.
