We are proud to announce that for the first year our Asia-Pacific competition will be held in Asia, with Taiwan as the first Asian hosting country for the International Chocolate Awards. For several years, Asia-Pacific has been held as part of the Americas competition in New York, but with increasing entries and a growing interest in fine chocolate in the region we are pleased to launch this new world region competition.

Asia-Pacific brings together bean-to-bar chocolate bars and chocolatier products from diverse cultures around the region to celebrate innovation and excellence in fine chocolate and chocolate making, including entrants from Japan, Taiwan, India, Australia and New Zealand, the Pacific islands and other the many other Asian countries now developing fine chocolate products.

Our first Asia-Pacific competition is being held in cooperative partnership with the National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism (NKUHT), the PingTung County Government (PTHG) and the Soil and Water Conservation Bureau (SWCB). The judging takes place in the city of Kaohsiung, close to the cacao growing regions of Taiwan in PingTung.

The chocolate competition will be followed by a national cacao competition, held in partnership with the PingTung County Government. Details of how to enter this competition will be provided to national cacao growers.

Early judging for bean-to-bar – sample deadline: 27 July 2018

To allow extended judging of all bean-to-bar plain/origin and flavoured bars, our competitions now include remote early judging of all bars. All BARS should be sent to the receiving venue by 27 July 2018. Entries for all other categories, including short-shelf life products should arrive before the main judging round by 6 September 2018.

Awards Ceremony, Taipei 14 September 2018

The winners of the 2018 Asia-Pacific competition will be announced at an Awards Ceremony in Taipei on the evening of 14 September 2018. All Asia-Pacific entrants and judges are invited to attend. Full details to follow.

Deelnamecriteria

Open to all entrants with their main office or headquarters in Asia-Pacific, Oceania and India for all categories.

De deelnamekosten voor deze wedstrijd bedragen USD $65 en de kosten voor elke inschrijving bedragen USD $50. De kosten worden door uw creditcardmaatschappij, indien nodig, omgezet in de plaatselijke valuta.

Hoeveelheid monsters

Om ervoor te zorgen dat wij voldoende producten hebben ontvangen voor de Selection, Main en Grand Jury beoordelingsronden, dient u de volgende hoeveelheden van ELK product dat u ingeschreven heeft, in te zenden:

    • Repen: 400g (14 ounces) totaal gewicht
  • Gevuld/bonbons enz.: 40 stuks

 

  • Smeerpasta: 300 grams/10 ounces
